Clear PET is at the core of our thermoformed packaging portfolio, valued for its clarity, strength, presentation, and reliable forming performance. For applications where a clear package is not the right fit, select coloured PET options may also be available.
PET is the primary material used across Guycan's thermoformed packaging portfolio, with clear PET forming the core of our offering. It combines optical clarity, structural rigidity, reliable thermoforming performance, food-contact suitability where appropriate, and established recyclability.
For applications where transparency is not required, Guycan can also support select coloured PET applications based on product requirements, presentation, performance, material availability, and production needs.
Material selection is considered alongside package design, product protection, forming performance, food-contact requirements where applicable, and customer specifications.

What Clear PET Delivers
Optical Clarity
PET transmits light with minimal haze, giving finished packaging the glass-like transparency that lets product sell itself on shelf. Clarity is maintained through thermoforming when sheet quality and process parameters are controlled correctly.
Structural Rigidity
PET provides the stiffness and wall strength required for clamshells, domes, trays, and inserts to hold their shape through filling, stacking, transit, and retail display — without the brittleness of alternative materials.
Food-Contact Suitability
PET is an FDA-recognised food-contact material with a long history of use in direct-contact food packaging. Material used at Guycan meets applicable food contact requirements for the packaging applications we produce.
Thermoforming Performance
PET sheet responds predictably to vacuum and pressure thermoforming. Consistent sheet quality from qualified suppliers, combined with controlled forming temperatures and tooling, produces parts with accurate dimensions, consistent wall distribution, and repeatable clarity.
Recyclability
PET is one of the most widely recycled plastics globally and carries the #1 resin identification code. Where local collection and sorting infrastructure exists, PET packaging can be recovered and reprocessed — supporting a more circular material lifecycle.
Recycled-Content Availability
Post-consumer recycled PET (rPET) is available in food-contact grades and can be incorporated into thermoformed packaging where product performance, food safety requirements, and customer specifications permit. Guycan can work with customers to evaluate recycled content options.

PET Options We Work With
Not every application requires the same material construction. Guycan works with clear PET as our primary material while also supporting select coloured PET, recycled-content options, different surface treatments, and application-specific gauges where appropriate. Material selection depends on the package, production requirements, customer specifications, and intended application.
Clear PET
Our primary thermoforming material, selected for applications where product visibility, clarity, presentation, rigidity, and dependable forming performance are important.
Coloured PET Options
Select coloured PET materials may be available for applications where transparency is not required or where appearance, product identification, presentation, or other application requirements call for a coloured package. Availability depends on colour, gauge, volume, material supply, and production requirements.
Recycled-Content PET
Recycled-content PET options may be evaluated where application requirements, food-contact requirements where applicable, performance, and customer specifications allow.
Silicone Coating Options
PET sheet can be supplied with different silicone treatment levels to manage surface friction and support reliable release and denesting of formed parts. The appropriate treatment can be selected based on package geometry, stacking requirements, downstream handling, and customer specifications.
Gauge-Specific Sheet
Sheet gauge is selected based on part geometry, wall thickness requirements, structural performance, and material efficiency. Gauge selection is matched to the requirements of the application.
